2009 Strigoi Napa Valley Petite Sirah

This Petite Sirah is big, bold and beautiful, made by Hélène Mingot. The deep dark color is 100% liquid eggplant.  The nose is full with ultra-ripe raspberry wrapped in melted chocolate dusted with ground pepper and pipe tobacco.  The palate erupts with dark brambly fruits-boysenberry, blueberry, and blackberry framed with a leathery, earthy note. The finish is long with a bold, rambunctious tannin that curls up with nuances of cassis, roasted meats, and a hint of vanilla.  This will be perfect with juicy ribs dripping in BBQ sauce hot of the grill-the quintessential summer grilling companion and much more.
