2003 Elgin Meritage, Napa Valley

The ripeness shows in this wines color, a shiny black purple from rim to rim. The nose is full and richly aromatic with boysenberry and cherry, framed by vanilla and caramel. The body is lush, velvety, and round with big burly tannins dead center on your palate. The black fruits get deeper and the texture broadens to tobacco and tar notes.
