2007 Alexandre Rochette Saint-Joseph, Northern Rhône

Chapoutier head winemaker Greg Viennois made this exceptional wine specifically for us.  This 2007 Alexandre Rochette Saint-Joseph is in a class by itself. Deep purple releases an intoxicating nose of new leather, browned meats and bacon fat laced with orange zest and black pepper. The body is bold and powerful with dusty currant, black olive, earth and thyme.  The finish is so expressive with a subtle frame of flowers along with the intense fruit and lingering, masculine tannins. This is  Rhône royalty, a super star!
