With so many Chardonnays burdened with flabby flavors and excessive oak these days, it is such a treat to find a small production, complex Chardonnay full of life and freshness like our 2007 Amura from Leyda Valley in Chile.  The cool, marine climate is the catalyst for this clean, refreshing style.  The nose picks up sea breeze nuances, cut hay, and subtle notes of lemongrass and pear.  The palate delivers flavors of green apple, lemon and lime, along with an invigorating touch of white flowers, all complemented by a tangy finish with brisk minerality and lively acidity.
