Derenoncourt Makes Decanter's 2009 Power List

Montesquieu Wine Buyer Stephane Derenoncourt has once again been included as one of the world’s most important wine personalities in Decanter’s 2009 Power List, coming in at #34.

The list is compiled every two years and focuses on those people influencing the wine world the most, whether it be as a politician or lawmaker, corporate CEO, or in the instance of Stephane, someone who is driven by making great small production wine.  As noted in the article, Stephane is not only a top Bordeaux consultant but he’s also expanded to China, India, and Lebanon in the pursuit of unique terroir all over the world.  His desire to work outside of the old world’s traditional regions will only further cement his influence on the wine world in the future.

Our continued relationship with Stephane has delivered several exciting projects this year; his 2006 Bordeaux Collection and the 2007 Mingot Napa Valley Red are just a couple of the many highlights.  The article did fail to mention Stephane’s most ambitious new project, Derenoncourt California; his first series of ultra-exclusive Napa Valley wines. The wines are from the 2006 vintage and will be released in a limited allocation later this year.  For more information on the wines, check out www.derenoncourtcalifornia.com.
