2006 Jean Gagnerot Hospices de Beaune Cuvée Suzanne Chaudron, Pommard
Pommard is historically noted for its masculinity and the Cuvée Chaudron is no exception. This riveting example is anchored by seven parcels of fruit with some of the vines planted as far back as 1921, which were donated to the Hospices by the Cyrot-Chaudron family in 1979. This is dense, savory Pinot Noir packed with black cherry flavors and complexities of mushroom, moss and damp forest. Already delicious, this wine will continue to evolve for the next six to eight years.
