2003 Clos Saint-Georges Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône

Ripe aromas of black cherry, boysenberry and dried cranberries are complimented with herb and pepper scents. Succulent and juicy flavors of dark berries and unsweetened chocolate coat your palate. The lip smacking jammy style is due to the 70% Grenache in the blend. These "bonsai-like" vines approaching 80 years produced low quantities of incredibly deep fruit. The Syrah is sourced from hillside vines and provides spice, color and depth. The other 11 varietals provide incredible complexity.
